Lesson 5 Reflection

Lesson 5 Reflection

·         Open and Distance Learning is a general term for the use of telecommunication to provide or enhance learning. Around the world, the academic community is discovering and exploring the Internet, teleconferencing, and related means to achieve an extended classroom or learning experience. https://tinyurl.com/y2knygw6

·         Face-to-face learning is an instructional method where the course content and learning material are taught in-person to a group of students. This allows for live interaction between a learner and an instructor. It is the most traditional type of learning instruction. https://tinyurl.com/y4otgmen

·         Online learning is when you take courses online instead of in a physical classroom. If your schedule makes it hard to attend classes, if you prefer studying at your own pace, or if you live far from campus, online learning might be for you. https://diigo.com/0jl8fx

·         Blended learning is an approach to education that combines online educational materials and opportunities for interaction online with traditional place-based classroom methods. https://diigo.com/0jl8gm

·         Distinguish between classroom education, e-Learning: With online learning, students can always access learning materials such as module contents, assignments, lecture materials, podcasts, and recorded sessions anytime during their studies. For the postgraduate courses module, tutors are always there to assist with any questions through emails, messages and Skype calls. With Classroom Learning, be it for a school or university courses, a student has to visit the physical location to speak with tutor’s face to face, during assigned hours. This can be limiting, especially for working professionals.  The online learning environment relies on computers connected to the internet. Responsibility for learning shifts primarily to the learners and blended learning is a mix of face-to-face teaching and the online approach. https://tinyurl.com/y4qfkc5z

·         Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning and research materials in any medium – digital or otherwise – that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits no-cost access, use, adaptation, and redistribution by others with no or limited restrictions. https://tinyurl.com/y37q7vus

·         I have learned to describe open and distance education, face-to-face learning, online learning, and Blended learning and being able to differentiate this type of learning. I did face any problem and I think using online learning is meaningful for this generation because we can access the internet and we will able to learn on our own time than going to a classroom which I see as meaningless.

·         I needed to learn the forms of Learning because I know now which learning is best and which one is not good.

·         OER is important because includes everything from a single video or lesson plan to a completely online course or curriculum and also includes the software platforms needed to create, change, and share the materials.

·         I enjoy today's lesson because I know all the forms of learning yet before I do the lesson, I only know the classroom and online learning and now I know more about it and the other form of learning like Blended learning.
